Iranian missiles hit 10 Israeli sites after US attack

The Israeli military has detected about 20 missiles fired from Iran targeting central and northern Israel.

Iran has fired nearly 20 ballistic missiles into Israel after US forces carried out major strikes on three of its main nuclear facilities. The Iranian missiles hit at least 10 areas in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, injuring 16 people.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they detected about 20 missiles fired from Iran targeting central and northern Israel on Sunday morning.

Israeli media outlet The Jerusalem Post reported that heavy explosions could be heard across Israel.

The country's emergency services, Megan David Adam (MDA), said its teams were heading to at least 10 areas hit by missiles. Sixteen people were reported injured in the attacks, including one in the Shefela region in central-southern Israel.

Initial reports from Israeli media said missiles hit northern and central Israel, including the port city of Haifa.
